Din Tai Fung has Landed in San Diego!
Finally! After the anticipation and waiting, Din Tai Fung has finally opening their doors and kitchen and is filling bellies at UTC in San Diego! Including mine ? I snagged a reservation for the soft opening.
Xiao Long Bao
Must have! This is what they’re known for! If you don’t know what these are, these are soup dumplings not to be confused with dumplings in soup. They magically put soup inside! Not a fan of the pork + crab one though, stick with the purely pork one.
Shrimp and Pork Dumping with spicy sauce
Yes! GET THIS DISH! Might be my new favorite thing here?! Guard the extra sauce with your life when you’re done with eating the dumplings. You’ll want to put it on everything else! I mean you can probably ask for sauce too.
Love how they get it so crispy at the bottom. You’re gonna need to get this too!
I really love this dish! The beef was so tender. But if you’re short on belly space you may need to skip this dish. Get if you can.
I know the green beans and pork cutlet are to die for too, but there was only two of us ☺️ next time!
